What Owners Have Found

Brought in my grandfather's Omega Seamaster — I wasn't even sure if it was worth servicing given its age. The intake process was reassuring: photos taken, condition documented, and costs discussed before anything was touched. Picked it up four weeks later running better than I expected. The rotor sounds different now — quieter, more settled.

I had a bracelet restoration done on a steel sports watch — the previous owner hadn't been careful with it and several links were visibly loose, the clasp was unreliable. The work took about two and a half weeks. The grain alignment on the brushed sections is noticeably better than I'd expected. The clasp now closes with a satisfying solidity it probably hadn't had in years.

Chronograph service on a vintage Heuer — the push-piece had become sticky and the reset function unpredictable. Daniel explained what he found during intake clearly, quoted a range, and kept to it. The service took eight weeks which was within the timeline they gave me. The chronograph now engages cleanly and the start/stop is responsive again.

My husband inherited a watch from his father with no service record and we genuinely didn't know what condition the movement was in. Sang Kala's intake assessment was thorough — they found a hairspring with some distortion and a worn pallet jewel. Parts took a few extra days to source but that was communicated beforehand. Very pleased with how the whole thing was handled.

Had a movement overhaul on a daily-worn automatic. They mentioned the mainspring was reaching end of useful life and discussed replacement before proceeding — I appreciated being asked rather than just billed for it. The timing result they shared showed improvement across all positions. The watch is now closer to manufacturer spec than it's been in probably five years.

I was hesitant to leave a significant piece with a workshop I hadn't used before. What changed my mind was the intake process — the written report and photographs felt like a proper handover rather than just dropping something off. Three weeks later the movement overhaul was complete, and the watch was returned with a summary of what was found and what was done. That's what I'd hope for.

Detailed Case Studies

The Situation

Vintage Automatic, No Service Record

A 1972 automatic dress watch inherited after a family bereavement. The owner had worn it occasionally but noticed that power reserve had shortened from a day to roughly eight hours, and accuracy had deteriorated significantly.

What We Did

Full strip-down revealed dried lubricants throughout the gear train, a worn escape wheel pivot, and a mainspring showing fatigue. Parts were sourced from a specialist supplier over twelve days. Reassembly, regulation, and five-day timing observation followed.

The Outcome

Power reserve restored to approximately 42 hours. Accuracy within +4/-2 seconds per day across positions. The owner collected a watch that had functioned unreliably for years and now runs within acceptable parameters. Timeline: 5 weeks.

"I wasn't expecting it to run this well given its age. I'm wearing it daily now." — owner, Bangsar

The Situation

Modern Chronograph, Clutch Issues

A 2009 automatic chronograph from a Swiss manufacture showing erratic chronograph engagement — start was sometimes delayed and the reset occasionally failed to return the seconds hand to zero. The watch was otherwise keeping time adequately.

What We Did

Chronograph mechanism disassembly revealed a worn coupling clutch spring and slight hammer geometry misalignment. The clutch spring was replaced with an original manufacturer component. Hammer geometry adjusted. Extended operation cycle testing of 48+ hours before sign-off.

The Outcome

Chronograph engagement became immediate and consistent. Reset function returned to clean single-position. Rate unchanged from pre-service baseline. Timeline: 7 weeks including parts sourcing.

"The explanation of what was wrong was clear and the fix was exactly what was discussed." — owner, KLCC
